At Sequal we’re passionate about our purpose, our beliefs, and our people.
Our purpose; ‘to challenge, transform and give more to the future through wood’ is something we strive to live every single day. It is the driver of our beliefs and obligation to give more to our people, our customers and to the future.
In a world with so much going on, actions and words only become meaningful when they are authentic. And this year, we’re making a real commitment to authenticating our beliefs and bringing them to life!
Over the past few months, with the help of feedback from our team, we’ve been crafting initiatives that reflect our values and what we stand for. To get everyone together and on the same page, we ran a team Startup Day this week to share our focus and initiatives for the year and discuss ways in which we can work together to give more.
To give more to our people, we’ve introduced a series of rituals to begin to create a ‘Sequal way’ of doing things. Things that will become part of what we do day after day that reinforce our purpose and beliefs. Examples of these rituals are; acknowledging birthdays and work anniversaries, creating a social calendar and recognizing people with random appreciation vouchers.
We strive to have a deep understanding of our customers and with their input, we can work on ways on continuously improve what we do. As a focus this year to give more to our customers, we’ve been working on continuous improvement strategies and improving our quality procedures to consistently find ways we can do things better to make life easier for them. Sometimes it’s the smallest things that make the biggest difference!
This year we’re also introducing Give More days to reinforce our belief of giving more to the future (the environment and our communities). These days will consist of management staff filling operational staff roles for a day whilst they go out into the community and help those who need it. We’re really excited to be introducing this initiative for two reasons… so our team can take pride in taking part in helping others who really need it AND so management can get a better understanding of some of the challenges our operational staff face on a daily basis and find ways to work together to improve these things.
