Building Confidence, Strengthening Our Community

Great things happen when people come together with a shared purpose. BB’s Edge Workshops are a perfect example of this — giving young men a chance to get hands-on with woodwork while building confidence, discipline, and a sense of belonging.

Running in schools across the Eastern Bay of Plenty and beyond, the programme works with boys aged 8–11, teaching them basic hand-tool skills and mentoring them in positive values and behaviours. It’s practical learning that goes way beyond just making something with your hands.

For many, the workshops are a chance to problem-solve, succeed, and feel proud of what they’ve created — experiences they might not usually get in the classroom. That confidence often carries over into other areas of school and life.

We’re stoked to support BB Edge Workshops in making a real difference — the passion and effort they put into every workshop is giving young men the skills, confidence, and self-belief to thrive, while benefiting schools and communities across the region.
