We are committed to giving more to our local communities and passionate about helping out where we can. With winter on the horizon, and plenty of homes to heat in the coming months, our Whakaari Dry Shed and Despatch personnel got stuck into our annual firewood drive in collaboration with KADAP earlier this month.
KADAP are a local initiative who help members of the Kawerau community who wish to stay in their own homes and keep their independence but need a hand with getting bits and bobs done around the house. They do so much to help those in our community and we are privileged to be able to partner with them.
A great group of volunteers chipped in over a number of days contributing to the many loads that were delivered and the response from recipients was very humbling. The team thoroughly enjoyed being able to get stuck in to help out, even in the smallest way.
A huge thanks must go to Karen Stanton, the KADAP Coordinator, who was a huge contributor to the success of the activity; from compiling the list of recipients, to assisting in following up with those we couldn’t contact to ensure that everyone on the list got their delivery! Bring on next year!
