Last week, we had the privilege of joining forces with Kawerau Blue Light to accompany a group of young people on an unforgettable adventure to the Whakapapa Ski Field.
Blue Light, a Police initiative, is dedicated to empowering young people and fostering positive relationships between law enforcement, youth, parents, and the community. Through their tireless efforts, they provide a safe and supportive environment for young people to explore their passions and interests.
We believe that as a community, it is our responsibility to nurture the spark in our young people, empowering them to unlock their unlimited potential and achieve their dreams. Blue Light’s dedication to young people is a testament to the impact we can have when we invest in the next generation.
Over the course of the day as we hit the slopes for skiing and snow tobogganing, we watched the group step out of their comfort zones and embrace these new challenges with such enthusiasm. It was awesome to see first-hand the sense of accomplishment and excitement on their faces and the “never quit” attitude that these kids have.
Kudos to Blue Light for their remarkable work in our community and to all the kids who branched out and gave it a go… it made for an incredibly quiet trip home after a huge (but amazing!) day out!
