Sequal Lumber welcomes Kurt Pfanstiel to the newly created role of Value Stream Manager.
Kurt comes to us following a long career in electrical engineering and management with Proctor and Gamble in the USA. His career at Procter and Gamble left him with many business and organizational/leadership skills, both in technical and people systems. Technically, he led teams and departments which included a broad variety of mechanical/electrical skills and accounting/budgeting/logistics/inventory skills. His best personal development was in the understanding of operational strategy and how the budgets for these strategies came to the bottom line. In this learning he became very familiar with receiving of goods, making of product, shipping of finished product, and inventory control and internal controls audits.
His role as value stream manager is a new one, and does require some explanation. In short, Kurt will look through our entire production process from sourcing logs through to the product arriving with our customer, to see where we can improve. Continuous improvement is a core company value and Kurt’s role will be to help us all improve the way work and do business.
It’s great to have Kurt on the team. we look forward to seeing our processes shored up, clarified, and optimised to produce optimal results for our customers.
