At Sequal, we’re passionate about empowering young people to achieve their dreams. We’re all about giving more, and Tarawera High School’s got the same vision – to help their students grow and reach their full potential. We’re privileged to partner with them to bring to life an event that celebrates exceptional students who exemplify servant leadership, resilience, and determination.
The Piwi King Award is a tribute to the selfless spirit of Piwi, a shining example of servant leadership. This year, De-Lylah Dowie-Soutar received the award for her outstanding commitment to helping others.
The resilience scholarship, inspired by the whakatauki “Kaua e mate wheke, mate ururoa” or “don’t fight like an octopus, fight like a hammerhead shark,” recognised Marion Herbert’s remarkable perseverance and determination in all aspects of school life.
The Tarawera Prizegiving celebrates individual achievements and fosters a community that values hard work, empathy, and resilience. We believe these values are essential for creating a brighter future, and we’re dedicated to empowering young people to reach their full potential.
Congratulations to all the award recipients, and a big thank you to the Tarawera High School community for your tireless efforts in shaping the next generation of leaders!
