Helping Kawerau Students

We’re passionate about supporting the community in which we operate.

With this in mind, we’re pleased to be investing in the future of two local Kawerau high school students, sponsoring them to attend the Sir Edmund Hillary Outdoor Pursuits Centre (OPC) of New Zealand this year.

This is the second time we’ve funded this activity, and this initiative is in partnership with Peter Blakewell and the Decision Reach Out (Toro Mai) Trust, an organisation focused on developing leadership skills within local schools like Kawerau College.

As a business, we’re particularly interesting in supporting the youth of Kawerau, and our involvement in this programme aligns perfectly with our mission to be an active contributor within our community.

In terms of the course itself, the two students will participate in a week’s worth of outdoor activities in Tongariro, with each activity designed to test and develop their character in the harshest of environments.

The Tongariro OPC is known for having a life-changing impact so we’re excited about making a difference to two lives within our community.

The Decision Reach Out Trust is also sponsoring 2 other Kawerau College students on this camp along with 3 students from Katikati College and 3 students from Tauranga Girls College.
